The Thoughts & Memories
This series of sculptures is sub divided into four Slideshows: Busts, Containers, Heads and Houses.
Thoughts & Memories is a new series of paintings and sculptures reflecting the feelings of uncertainty and isolation brought on by the lockdowns during the pandemic. In Norse mythology, Huginn (thought) and Muninn (memory or mind) are a pair of ravens that fly all over the world, and bring information to the Viking god Odin. I found myself using the ravens and their feathers as a symbol of my thoughts and memories ~ as a way to reconnect with my family. My aim is to collect these thoughts and memories, keep them safe, and present them to the viewer as a set of circumstances that can unfold in various directions. I hope that my work acts as a starting point of departure, encouraging the viewer connect, interact, and ultimately create their own narrative.
